One injured in Walterboro shooting

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) – The Walterboro Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man injured.

It happened just before 5pm on Monday in the 100 block of Glover Street near Cougar Stadium.

According to a spokesperson for the Walterboro Police Department, one man was shot in the thigh.

A witness said she saw a man running down Glover Street shortly after she heard the gun shots.

Armed police officers spent several hours canvassing the surrounding neighborhood with a K-9 unit looking for the suspect.

Although their neighborhood has received a lot of attention for its crime, some Colleton County residents said they are ready to move forward.

"Make sure your kids are home at a decent time. Lock your doors; and if you see something suspicious call 911," one resident said.

Officials have made contact with victim, however, they say he is not cooperating with them.
