SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -Summerville police are looking for 30 year old Kelven Duberry.
Duberry is wanted for burglary, kidnapping and criminal domestic violence in connection with the March 1 attack on the mother of his kids at her mobile home.
"He approached her bedroom, knocked on the door. She recognized the voice, he ended up going in, holding her at knife point for some time," said Summerville Police Capt.. Jon Rogers.
Police say Duberry began to choke the woman and forced her into the kitchen before letting her go. "Absolutely lucky she wasn't killed and unfortunately with cases of criminal domestic violence they can escalate, escalate and escalate," said Rogers.
Cops say Duberry's two young kids were sleeping next to the victim at the time of the attack, but were unharmed.
Police say Duberry has a long criminal record and should be considered very dangerous. "For anybody to enter someone's residence in the middle of the night armed with a knife, and put the knife against someone's throat, that's an extreme danger to the community," said Rogers.
Duberry's last known address was on W. 3rd North Street in Summerville.
