Butterfly House opening at historic Brookgreen Gardens

MURRELLS INLET, SC - MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (AP) - A historic landmark on the South Carolina coast is opening another attraction - a butterfly house featuring hundreds of species.

The butterfly house at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet near Myrtle Beach opens on Thursday.

The butterfly house includes species that are native to the Southeast. It's the newest addition to the Lowcountry Zoo at the gardens.

Brookgreen Gardens, a national historic landmark, was established in 1931 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. It's best known for its extensive sculpture collection.
