CORNELIA, Ga. (AP) - Community Bank & Trust says it will close 10 of its lowest-performing northeast Georgia branches as it tries to improve its financial situation.
The bank said Thursday the closings are scheduled to take place in late May.
Most of the branches are in grocery stores. They are located in Bethlehem, Maysville, Auburn Jefferson, Cleveland, Clayton, Dillard, Oakwood, Spout Springs and Toccoa.
CB&T's decision to close the branches came two months after state and federal banking regulators shut down the bank and sold it to South Carolina Bank & Trust of Orangeburg, S.C.
SCBT reopened the bank and its 36 branches on Feb. 1, still under the name CB&T.
