FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - With the cold weather virtually gone, South Carolina residents can flex their green thumbs for spring planting.
Each year, the state Department of Agriculture holds its annual Southern Plant and Flower Festival in Florence on the weekend after Easter.
This year's event begins on Thursday and runs through Sunday at the Pee Dee State Farmers Market.
There are more than 60 exhibitors selling everything from plants to yard decor and the Clemson Extension's master gardeners hold daily seminars and answer garden.
Organizers suggest visitors bring a wagon or cart to carry their purchases and wear comfortable shoes while shopping.
