Bruised kidney puts SCarolina's LeCorn in hospital

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says receiver Dion LeCorn spent a night in the hospital after bruising his kidney in practice.

Spurrier says LeCorn suffered the injury Tuesday and doctors put him in the hospital as a precaution.

The coach says he already planned to keep LeCorn out of Saturday's spring game. The hard-luck senior suffered a broken leg in last year's scrimmage.

LeCorn caught just four passes for 27 yards in an injury-filled 2009 season.

The Gamecocks practiced for the last time in the spring Wednesday.
