Ex-boyfriend questioned in triple SC shooting

COWPENS, S.C. (AP) - The ex-boyfriend of a woman shot to death in her South Carolina home says authorities have questioned him in the case.

Cass Smith told multiple media outlets Cherokee County deputies questioned him for several hours Saturday.

Authorities say 41-year-old Suzanne Elizabeth Bridges and her 15-year-old daughter Margaret Matilda Wenner died in their home Friday night. Also killed was 45-year-old Harold Benjamin Lick of Blacksburg.

The bodies were discovered Saturday by two children who had been sleeping in the home and were unharmed.

Smith says he lived with Bridges and her children for six years until she broke up with him last month. He says he still loved Bridges and wouldn't have hurt her.

No one has been arrested, and deputies won't say if Smith is a suspect.
