SALEM, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina coroner says two sisters have been found dead and a man was wounded in a series of shootings.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis on Tuesday said the victims were 62-year-old Audrey W. Scull and her sister, 66-year-old Eloise W. Corley of Salem were found as deputies investigated reports of gunshots Monday evening.
Multiple media outlets reported two men were being questioned.
The sheriff's office says the shootings occurred within five miles of Salem. Officers found a wounded man about 5:15 p.m. and he was flown to a Greenville hospital. Deputies found Scull's body in some woods in Tamassee about an hour later.
Corley's body was found at a home in Salem about 7:30 p.m.
Lt. Travis Tilson said he could not reveal a possible motive while the investigation continues.
