SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina troopers say all lanes of Interstate 85 have been shut down north of Spartanburg after power lines fell across the highway.
I-85 was closed near mile marker 80, north of Spartanburg and just south of the Cherokee County line.
Crews scrambled to clean up the highway Thursday afternoon, but authorities didn't know when road would be reopened.
A Department of Transportation traffic camera showed traffic at a standstill on 1 of South Carolina's busiest roads.
DOT figures show around 54,000 vehicles travel through that section of I-85 on an average weekday.
