YAZOO CITY, MISSISSIPPI - YAZOO CITY, MISSISSIPPI (AP) - Emergency officials in Mississippi say six people have been killed by a devastating tornado that ripped through the state.
State emergency management spokesman Greg Flynn said three deaths were reported in Yazoo County and three in Choctaw County in north-central Mississippi.
Mississippi Govenor Haley Barbour says the tornado has caused "utter obliteration" to parts of the state.
More than a dozen others have been injured, homes and buildings have been destroyed and toppled trees are blocking some roads.
