SC rescue workers searching for missing boater

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina rescue workers are searching for a man who fell from a boat in the Waccamaw River while fishing with a friend.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported Saturday that the man is from Conway but has not been identified by officials. South Carolina Natural Resources Department Sgt. Mike Prosser said the man fell into the water Friday afternoon after he and his friend panicked when their boat ran into a limb with several snakes on it.

Velma Frink told the newspaper her cousin Tim Livingston of Charlotte, N.C., had come to the area to visit his longtime friend.

Livingston was taken to a local hospital and Frink said he called relatives to pick him up from the hospital Friday evening.
