DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - An emergency official says a possible tornado that hit Darlington County injured three, damaged an elementary school roof and knocked over a few mobile homes.
Emergency management public information officer Linwood Epps says the storm that hit Sunday night has not been confirmed as a tornado but seemed to be.
He says three people have been taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He says Cain Elementary School's roof has been damaged, but he wasn't sure how badly. Schools in the Darlington area, including Cain Elementary, are closed on Monday.
He says three or four mobile homes overturned and trees were down, but not on any major thoroughfares in the county about 60 miles east of Columbia.
