CAYCE, S.C. (AP) - Summer is approaching, and South Carolina agriculture officials want to make sure the state's farming community is prepared to keep their crops safe.
The South Carolina Department of Agriculture and other agencies are hosting a daylong food safety workshop Wednesday at the Farm Bureau auditorium in Cayce.
Organizers say the workshop is set up to help fruit and vegetable producers understand food safety programs and how to implement them. Growers, marketers and processors can also come to the forum to get information on good agricultural practices and third-party audits.
