ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina has pleaded guilty to embezzling money from the bank where she worked for than 20 years.
Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald said 44-year-old Kimberly O. McAbee of Woodruff pleaded guilty in federal court in Anderson on Tuesday to the embezzlement of bank funds.
McDonald says McAbee is accused of taking about $520,000 from Arthur State Bank in Woodruff between 2006 and 2009. She had worked at the bank since 1988.
McDonald says McAbee apologized during her plea and said she will repay the money.
Senior U.S. District Judge G. Ross Anderson Jr., will sentence McAbee after a report is prepared by the U.S. Probation Office.
McDonald says she could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison and fined $1 million.
