NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina veterans are joining their counterparts from across the country in a push for energy independence.
The veterans will hold a news conference in North Charleston on Thursday. They will visit Charleston and Beaufort (BEW'-furt) on Friday.
It's part of a four-month Veterans for American Power National Tour. The veterans are pushing for a federal policy for energy independence, saying the money Americans send overseas for oil often goes into the pockets of the nation's enemies.
