COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The first of two consecutive nights of debates among politicians hoping to succeed Gov. Mark Sanford begin with the three Democratic hopefuls on public television.
The debate Sunday night is to be simulcast on ETV stations across South Carolina and on the Internet.
State Sens. Robert Ford of Charleston and Vincent Sheheen of Camden and Education Superintendent Jim Rex are to take part in the discussion on ETV's "The Big Picture."
Republican Gov. Mark Sanford wraps up his second and final term in January.
Republican candidates are to debate Monday night on ETV. U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, state Rep. Nikki Haley and Attorney General Henry McMaster are taking part.
