May 8 deadline looms for SC primary registration

COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina voters planning to cast a ballot in the June 8 primaries face a deadline this week.

The state Election Commission says next Saturday is the deadline to register or make changes in existing registration.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the commission's website at and mailed, faxed or scanned and e-mailed to county registration offices. Voters can also register at Department of Motor Vehicle offices.

Agency officials say by making sure their registration information correct, can cut down on delays at polling places.
