Two escape from vessel taking on water

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Two people escaped from their sinking motorboat as they reached the Charleston Harbor Resort marina just in time on Sunday afternoon.

Charleston Coast Guard Officer Matthew Kahley said a 20-foot Whalecraft motorboat was taking on water and returning to the marina around 1 p.m. when the boaters were able to tie up to the marina.

After securing the line, the boat had taken on enough water to overturn.

No injuries were reported, nor was any pollution reported.
