COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Law enforcement from across South Carolina are gathering to honor the state's fallen officers.
The Criminal Justice Academy is holding its annual officers memorial on Wednesday in Columbia.
Officials say the name of 41-year-old Trooper Jonathan S. Nash will be added to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame.
Nash was killed in September during a memorial motorcycle ride to honor another trooper killed in the line of duty.
Authorities say a driver turned into Nash's patrol motorcycle last Sept. 19 as he was escorting a group for the memorial ride. The event was being held for Trooper H. Merl Godbold, who was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver in 1992.
Nash had been with the Highway Patrol since 1994.
