COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Law enforcement from across South Carolina are honoring the state's fallen officers.
The Criminal Justice Academy held its annual officers memorial on Wednesday in Columbia, honoring those active officers who died during 2009.
During the ceremony, the name of 41-year-old Trooper Jonathan S. Nash was added to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame.
Nash was killed in September during a motorcycle ride to honor another trooper killed in the line of duty.
Authorities say a driver turned into Nash's patrol motorcycle last Sept. 19 as he was escorting a group for the memorial ride. The event was being held for Trooper H. Merl Godbold, who was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver in 1992.
Nash had been with the Highway Patrol since 1994.
