Carnival launching Charleston-Bermuda lines in 2011

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Carnival Cruise Lines will sail between the Holy City and Bermuda next year. The cruise line will start cruises from Charleston next week.

Charleston is getting six of Carnival's planned 16 departures to Bermuda, which is about 650 miles east of Cape Hatteras, N.C. The first sailing is in April.

Carnival's 2011 Bermuda departures include:

  • Baltimore – April 10 and 17, Sept. 18, Oct. 2 and Nov. 6
  • New York – April 14 and 21, and Sept. 11 and 27
  • Norfolk – Oct. 16
  • Charleston, S.C. – April 23, May 19, June 16, Aug. 25, Sept. 15 and Oct.

All 16 voyages will dock at King's Wharf or Heritage Wharf. Six-day voyages will offer two-day calls at King's Wharf or Heritage Wharf while seven- and eight-day cruises will feature three-day visits.

The cruse ship launches its multi-day voyages to the Bahamas and Key West Tuesday.
