ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman has drowned in Lake Hartwell after her boyfriend was unable to find her when she slipped under the surface.
Multiple media outlets reported that 35-year-old Christina Lee Izon of Anderson drowned early Sunday afternoon.
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore says it took divers about an hour to find Izon's body in about 11 feet of water.
Her boyfriend dove into the water after her but was unable to find her.
Shore says sheriff's deputies and the Department of Natural Resources are assisting in the investigation.
