Death of 82-year-old SC man ruled a homicide

WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) - A coroner has ruled the death of an 82-year-old South Carolina man a homicide.

Multiple media outlets reported that Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said an autopsy on Sunday showed that James Carver of Seneca died after he was beaten in the head.

Carver's body was found about 6 p.m. Thursday in his bathroom. Officials think he died Thursday morning.

The sheriff's office said it was investigating and would not release further details.
