Graham finds agreement with SCOTUS nominee Kagan

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham met with Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan Tuesday. Kagan was picked by President Obama last week to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens.

Graham says he enjoyed meeting with Kagan, calling her "polite, poised and smart." He serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will be the first step for Kagan's confirmation.
Graham said her lack of judicial experience does not mean she cannot serve on the high court. "The one thing I am going to have to decide for myself: is this lady who's real gifted academically, does she have the disposition and qualifications to go from never being a judge to the Supreme Court," said Graham.

Senator Graham added the fact Kagan has not been a sitting judge means the committee will hold a more extensive hearing for her.
