COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Houston Texans owner Bob McNair says the joy of succeeding in the NFL is as fun as running a winning thoroughbred stable - only with more people around to enjoy the victories.
McNair is among eight people inducted Monday into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame. He joins a group that includes former Clemson and Chicago Bulls star Horace Grant, Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Courtney Shealy Hart and longtime NFL lineman Joe Bostic.
McNair says he's enjoyed overseeing the development of the Texans, who debuted in 2002 and had their first winning season at 9-7 this past fall. McNair thinks those improvements will continue and make his young team a playoff contender in the next couple of years.
