Police arrest second suspect in North Charleston murder

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a fatal shooting on Ferrara Drive in North Charleston Tuesday night.

A police spokesman said 35-year-old Arthur Singleton was shot several times. He was able to give police officers on the scene a description of the suspect's vehicle before being transported to the Medical University's hospital.

Singleton died at the hospital.

Police identified a vehicle on Dorchester Road that matched the victim's description. The driver of the vehicle led police on a short car chase before the driver and passenger fled the car, said police.

The passenger, 24-year-old Christopher Raenard Gadsen, was arrested following a brief foot chase. Police found marijuana on Gadsen. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Stanley Phillip Greene, was later arrested at a residence on Barony Park Lane.

Gadsen and Greene were both charged with murder and are expected to appear before a bond court judge Wednesday afternoon.

Police are still investigating the shooting and exploring possible motives for the crime.

This shooting marks the fifth in a week.
