Wilson, Clyburn expected to win SC primaries

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The South Carolina congressman known for shouting "You lie!" to President Obama and the highest-ranking black member of Congress are expected to cruise to victory in the June 8 primaries.

GOP Rep. Joe Wilson raised his national profile when he heckled Obama last year. Wilson will again face a primary challenge in the 2nd District from Barnwell businessman Phil Black.

Former Marine Capt. Rob Miller is the only Democrat to file for the race. Wilson defeated both in 2008.

In the 6th District, House Majority Whip James Clyburn faces a Democratic primary challenger from business owner Gregory Brown.

On the GOP side, three candidates are vying for the nomination. Nancy Harrelson lost to Clyburn in November 2008. She's running again against Colleen Payne and James Pratt.
