COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - State police released more information about a death threat they say has been made against South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster.
At approximately 11 a.m. Friday, a person placed a threatening note in the deposit drop box of Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union located at 8435 Dorchester Road in North Charleston.
The note contained a reference to "Jesuits," but SLED said they would not release further details about the letter. Lloyd said the note did not mention specific times or locations that McMaster might be in danger.
A security camera captured several people dropping items in the deposit box and have accounted for each person except the suspect. SLED released several frames of video from the bank's surveillance camera.
McMaster is seeking the Republican nomination for governor.
He was put under SLED protection Tuesday after a one-page note was found in a drop box at a bank in the Charleston area.
Anyone who has information regarding any individual who has made any direct or implied threat regarding Attorney General McMaster, or any other SC official, or who can identify the person in the photographs, are encouraged to contact the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) at 803 896-7133.
