CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Business leaders on the South Carolina coast are hearing about Boeing's new North Charleston aircraft assembly plant.
The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce holds its annual meeting Thursday and the keynote speaker is Marco Cavazzoni, the general manager of the Boeing 787 final assembly plant.
The session is at the Charleston Area Convention Center, not far from where Boeing is building the plant.
Boeing last year selected North Charleston for its $750 million plant, the largest single industrial investment in state history. The plant is expected to create 3,800 jobs.
Boeing announced last month that it would build a second plant nearby to assemble interior parts for the 787.
