WATCHES AND WARNINGS
Flash Flood Warning: Flash flooding is imminent in a specified area. Immediate action should be taken.
Flash Flood Watch: Flash flooding conditions may pose a threat to a specified area.
Gale Warning: Sustained surface winds between 39mph and 54mph, predicted or occurring not directly associated with tropical cyclones.
High Wind Warning: Surface winds of 40mph or greater lasting for an hour or longer, or of winds gusting to 58mph or greater regardless of duration that are either expected or are being observed over land.
Hurricane Warning: Hurricane-force winds and conditions are expected in a specified area within 24 hours.
Hurricane Watch: A hurricane poses a possible threat to a specified area, generally within 36 hours.
Tornado Warning: A tornado has been reported or is being indicated as possible by Doppler radar. Immediate action should be taken.
Tornado Watch: Conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area.
Tropical Storm Warning: Tropical storm conditions are expected in a specified area within 24 hours or less.
Tropical Storm Watch: Tropical storm conditions pose a threat to an area within 36 hours.
