Identity of tourist released in Stono River drowning

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner's office has released the identity of a tourist from New York who drowned Thursday in the Stono River.

According to officials, the victim, 54-year-old Bahik Muhammad of Jamaica, NY, was fishing with a friend when he lost his balance and fell into the water.

He fell in the water at Exchange Landing and the current carried him to Burden Creek where rescue officials pulled him out.
