WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been arrested and charged with stabbing one boy and trying to strangle another.
Multiple media outlets reported 29-year-old Jason Tremaine Lemmon Sr. of West Columbia has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill and possessing a weapon during a violent crime.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says Lemmon is accused of trying to strangle a 9-year-old boy. Metts says Lemmon also is accused of stabbing an 11-year-old boy in the chest.
The 11-year-old was taken to Lexington County Medical Center for treatment and was later released.
Detectives are still trying to determine a motive for the attacks.
The sheriff says the attacks occurred at the West Columbia home where Lemmon was staying.
