NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police Wednesday are searching for a bank robbery suspect.
According to police, a black man robbed the Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union near the Northwoods Mall.
Early Wednesday afternoon, police released a description of the suspect. He is a black man, 5' 6" tall, approximately 135 pounds and was wearing a purple blouse with a dark, printed skirt, a black wig and a black shoulder bag, said police.
The bank is located at 7550 Rivers Avenue. The robber presented a note to a teller demanding money around 9:30 a.m. No weapon was presented and the teller complied. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
No bank employees were injured during the robbery.
Another Heritage Trust Bank was robbed in Mt. Pleasant on Monday. Police believe Monday's robbery is connected with an April robbery on Folly Road, but there is no information available at this time to connect Wednesday's robbery with any of the previous robberies.
