Cruise ship on Charleston coast, but not for long

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The only cruise liner based on the South Carolina coast comes back to port but not for long.

Passengers aboard the Carnival Fantasy disembark on Wednesday in Charleston before others board for a cruise leaving later in the day.

Carnival Cruise Lines based the liner in Charleston last month.

Tourism is an $18.4 billion industry in the state and a study for the South Carolina State Ports Authority earlier this year found the cruise industry will mean $37 million for the state economy this year.
