Three men charged after trying to sell stolen guns

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's office arrested three men in connection with stolen guns Tuesday.

The arrests occurred after an individual was approached in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly on Skylard Drive by two individuals wanting to sell him several long guns at $150 a piece. The individual did not buy the weapons, but had knowledge that a friend of his had a break-in which numerous items, including long guns were stolen.

The individual watched the two men who wanted to sell him the weapons go into a room at the Motel 6 near by. The individual notified the friend who was robbed. The friend then called the sheriff's office.

Through the sheriff's office investigation, three individuals were arrested. Andrew Sinclair Brown and Devante Marquez White were charged with second-degree burglary and Desmon Latrell Champagne was charged with possession of stolen goods. White was also arrested on two outstanding warrants for armed robbery not connected to this incident.

The victims of the break-in identified numerous items taken from their break-in, which were found in the possession of the three individuals who were arrested.

This case is still under investigation and the three have not been for a bond hearing yet.
