CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police responded to an armed robbery that occurred at the Rite Aid on 325 Folly Road in James lsland around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say a black male 6'2 in height with a goatee was wearing a pink outfit (shirt and pants) and a black wig when he walked into the Rite Aid and demanded oxycontin from an employee.
A witness said the man had a rag or towel over his mouth and was coughing into it constantly.
The suspect took out a note and handed it to the pharmacy technician.
The note read: "I ready 2 die give me all the Oxycontin and all Percocet. We got guns."
The pharmacy tech told police that he thought he saw a gun in the suspect's hand under the purse, but could not make out what kind.
The incident is still under investigation.
