Parole denied for man serving 1972 murder sentence

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man convicted in the 1972 murder of Joseph Moulof Jr. has been denied parole.

Reginald Mack shot and killed Moulof on December 8, 1972 while the victim was working at Moulof's liquor store at Line and President Street.

Mack also shot at another victim in the store, but the gun malfunctioned. He was released on parole in 1988, but was sent back for violating it in 2008.

James Alston was also convicted in that murder. Alston died in prison.
