GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An Andrews man pleaded guilty Thursday to multiple charges in the stabbing death of a 63-year-old woman in 2007.
Shane Earl Lawshe admitted his guilt by accepting murder, armed robbery and second degree arson charges in the October 2007 death of Julianne Blakely. Prosecutors claim Lawshe stabbed and killed Blakely before setting her house on fire.
Solicitor Greg Hembree said Lawshe also pleaded guilty to one count of first degree burglary and two counts of second degree burglary. The additional charges were issued for his role in burglaries committed at a veterinarian's office and Jiffy Lube within hours of Blakely's murder.
Lawshe received a negotiated life sentence without the possibility of parole. Lawshe could have faced the death penalty had the case advanced.
