CHESTER, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman has been accused of trying to sell a teen in exchange for crack cocaine.
The Herald of Rock Hill reported a 32-year-old Chester woman is charged with illegal neglect toward a child. She was being held in the York County jail Tuesday.
A 15-year-old girl told sheriff's deputies she was punched while riding with the woman from Chester to Lake Wylie to visit friends earlier this month.
The girl says she drank two wine coolers and went to sleep. She says she was awakened by the woman who attacked her. The sheriff's report says the teen learned the woman had offered the girl to a man in exchange for crack cocaine.
The girl was taken to a Rock Hill hospital and has been placed with the Department of Social Services.
It was unclear if the woman had an attorney.
