CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 15-year-old male is in jail after Charleston police say he shot a man during an armed robbery Sunday.

According to the victim, he was walking to his father's apartment in the Saint Andrews Gardens apartment complex on Ashley River Road when a shooter stepped out from the shadows and stated twice, "give me everything you got." The victim told police there might have been a second suspect present.

The victim then stepped back and the suspect shot at him twice with a long gun. Police say the victim had a single gun shot wound to the left thigh with an entry and exit wound. After being shot, the victim ran away toward his father's residence.

During a search for the suspect, a witness told police she observed two black males running towards a powder blue Lincoln Town car, which was parked along the side of Little John Drive. The witness said that one of the men running had a light skin complexion as if he was of "mixed race," and he was holding a firearm.

Patrol units located the vehicle and the two men who fit the witness' description were arrested.

The 15-year-old unidentified suspect is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime for this incident. He is being held in the Juvenile Detention Center.

Anthony Bernard Taylor-Simmons, the second suspect, has been charged with accessory after the fact and is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
