North Charleston businesses meeting to discuss clean energy

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - An organization that advocates for the use of clean energy is holding an informational meeting for businesses in South Carolina.

South Carolina Research Authority chief executive Bill Mahoney will be 1 of the presenters on Tuesday at the business energy meeting at his offices in North Charleston.

Other presenters include Abundant Power Group founder and president Shannon Smith and Tim Greeff of the nonprofit advocacy group Clean Economy Network.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Abundant Power provides capital and financing options for new businesses focused on clean energy.

The South Carolina Research Authority was created by state law to foster technology industries in the state.
