Public gets look at Charleston County recycling program

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The public is getting a chance to see how one South Carolina county operates its recycling program.

Charleston County holds a green waste event at the county public services building on Tuesday. The event allows the public to see what sort of items can be recycled and get a look at the equipment and collection vehicles the county uses in its recycling program.

The event also allows the public see how items are recycled daily.

The county has a goal of recycling 40 percent of its waste.
