The United States Attorney's office said that Gerard Ronald Louis, 33, was sentenced in federal court for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Evidence presented in court established that on April 11, 2008, members of the Charleston County Metro Major Case Unit found crack cocaine, cocaine and marijuana while executing a search warrant at Louis' residence.

In addition, on April 24, 2008, while executing a search warrant at another residence, the Charleston County Metro Major Case Unit found cocaine on Louis during a personal search.

The case was investigated by agents of the Charleston County sheriff's office, the Charleston police department and federal agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
