Suspect robs Charleston convenience store with beer in hand

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are looking for a robbery suspect who jumped over the counter after purchasing a Coors beer and robbed the cash register of $60 Thursday.

The store clerk said the suspect purchased a 24-ounce Coors beer from the Circle K convenience store at 2300 Savannah Highway around 1 a.m. Thursday. While the clerk was giving him his change, the suspect jumped over the counter and stole $60 from the register.

The clerk said that after running out the door the suspect got into a late model black or dark blue colored pickup truck. he then turned right on Savage Road, then left onto US 17 heading north.

There were several customers in the store at the time of the robbery. The suspect had no weapon and never said a word to anyone in the store, including the clerk.

The register was knocked over and damaged during the robbery. No one was injured.
