Suspect robs Goose Creek Sonic wearing red devil mask, camouflage

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Sonic fast food restaurant at gunpoint while wearing a red devil mask Saturday.

The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sonic at 122 Saint James Ave. According to Goose Creek police, an unknown suspect wearing a camouflage shirt and pants, wearing a red devils mask, robbed the restaurant.

A store manager told police that while he was counting money, the man came up to him holding a handgun and demanded all of the money.

The manager said that the gun looked like a .380 caliber, a 9 mm or a High Point type gun. He also stated that he thought the suspect was hiding somewhere in the restaurant, waiting for him to begin counting the money.

Another store employee present at the time of the robbery, said that she thought it was a joke, until she saw the gun. She also stated that the suspect grabbed her by the back of her neck at one point and said something to her that she could not hear.

She also said that when the suspect took the money, he said "thanks homie," to the store manager and tried to give him a fist pump. The store manager did not reciprocate the gesture.

A concerned citizen called police less than 20 minutes after the robbery, stating that a man wearing camouflage had been seen running into Brandywine Townhomes.

Police were unable to locate the suspect, who is described as about 5'9" weighing around 180 pounds.
