GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) - A jury is expected to decide Wednesday if a former Georgetown County sheriff's deputy sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in 2007.
Testimony will resume Wednesday morning for 36-year-old Ron Crabtree. He was arrested in March 2009.
Investigators said the abuse went on for months at a home on Pawley's Island. Crabtree was fired from the sheriff's office.
Crabtree is charged with criminal sexual conduct-second degree and performing a lewd act on a minor.
The victim, now an 11th grader, said she trusted him because he is a relative.
If convicted, Crabtree could face up to 35 years in prison.
