NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - After further investigation into a false robbery reported Friday, police have arrested a second suspect on drug charges.
Police spent Friday morning investigating an armed robbery that allegedly occurred at the Charleston Neck & Back on Otranto Road.
While North Charleston police detectives were reinterviewing of the victim, she confessed that she fabricated the incident and there was no robbery.
The victim turned suspect, 27-year-old Ashley Greene of St. Ives Road was charged with falsely reporting a robbery.
As a follow-up to Greene's arrest, detectives obtained and served a search warrant for her residence. Greene's boyfriend, Thomas Case Garris, 22, was located inside the residence with pills on him. Police also found marijuana in plain view.
As a result of the search, 205 grams of marijuana, 114 pills of schedule II and schedule III narcotics and a handgun were found inside of the residence.
Garris was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics, possession with intent to distribute schedule III narcotics, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and three counts of possession with intent to distribute within 1/2 mile proximity.
The same charges have been added to Greene, who was also charged with falsely reporting the robbery.
They will both go before a bond judge Saturday.
