Deputies: Toy gun used in Walmart parking lot robbery

LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - Lexington County investigators have arrested two men they say robbed two residents in a Walmart parking lot using a plastic toy gun.

Detectives arrested 19-year-old Terrell Dawaijah Lytes and 18-year-old Marcus Sentell Smalls and charged them both with robbery.

Arrest warrants allege the pair robbed a 27-year-old Lexington woman and 31-year-old Lexington man of a purse, wallet, cell phone, and electronic pocket language translator. The woman told investigators she saw one of the men point what appeared to be a handgun at her during the incident.

Lytes was arrested shortly after the incident when he was caught by two K-9 police dogs nearby. Deputies found a white hat, camouflage bandanna and black plastic toy handgun in the woods where Lytes was caught. Smalls was arrested later in the morning.

The woman's purse was found in a nearby drainage ditch.

Lytes and Smalls are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.
