Man detained after robbery at Summerville dry cleaner

SUMMERVILLE SC (WCSC) — Authorities have a man in custody that they think might be responsible for robbing a dry cleaning business Monday morning.

Dorchester County Sheriff's deputies and Summerville Police responded to Oakbrook Dry Cleaners around 7:30 a.m Monday. Police said someone entered the store, said he had a weapon and threatened to kill the clerk.

The man took about $100 in cash and fled the building on foot. Officers searched the area and found a suspect.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and the man, identified as William David Hill, Jr., was charged with armed robbery.

The clerk was not injured in the robbery.
