Report: 5 killed on SC roads over weekend August 2, 2010 at 5:10 PM EST - Updated June 20 at 4:30 PM COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - Five people were killed on South Carolina roadways over the weekend, according to a fatality report released Monday by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. Officials said four people were killed along U.S. routes, state roadways and secondary roads between Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at midnight. Of those killed, two people were not wearing a seatbelt. As of Sunday, 431 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 535 highway deaths during the same time period in 2009.
